Never before has the adage "better late than never" held more truth than when a man checked his mail to find a postcard,Watch Good Girls Bad Girls (1984) sent in 1966.
Tim Duffy of South Australia was checking his mail recently when he noticed a postcard that was addressed to a Robert Giorgio. The tardily-delivered postcard was sent exactly 50 years ago from Papeete, Tahiti.

The sender, Chris Reynolds, told Giorgio he was "enjoy himself greatly" in the South Pacific, despite the "very humid weather."
Thanks to the Sherlock Holmes types over at The Advertiser, Giorgio and Reynolds were reunited. *Naww
Turns out the pair were school buddies who attended Rostrevor College together in Adelaide, and went on to study law together in university before drifting apart. "Robert was a school friend," Reynolds told the publication. "We stayed friends for quite a while, though eventually we lost contact."
Giorgio was stoked to be reunited with his old college buddy. "It makes everything that happened in between drop away. I was there when that happened then and I am here now and it is like, whatever happened in between, it doesn't matter," he said. "It feels like I just saw him last week. Your personality basically stays the same."
A spokesperson for Australia Post told The Advertiser "It is clear something went wrong 50 years ago after the postcard was posted in French Polynesia, and we apologise for the inconvenience.
"Australia Post takes great pride in the timely, safe and efficient delivery of mail and we are confident that the vast majority of mail and parcels arrive on time."
Mashablehave reached out to Australia Post and Tim Duffy for further comment.
