Chinese phone maker Vivo recently launched an independent robotics lab,ebony which primarily focuses on home robots. According to Vivo’s recruitment page, the company is hiring a chief scientist of robotics and is looking for an individual who has outstanding achievements in embodied intelligence or robotics and has the ability to lead a research team. While the company is entering the home robotics market, it will not develop full-body hardware but will focus on the “brain” (AI) and “eyes” (vision) of robots, Vivo’s Executive Vice President Hu Baishan said yesterday.
