Ever seen your dream job posted001 ArchivesLinkedIn, but been too lazy to ask for a referral? You're in luck: LinkedIn now does that for you.
LinkedIn has rolled out "Ask for a Referral," a feature that will allow you to ask LinkedIn connections for a referral with a single click. The online employment service has been testing the feature over the past month.
SEE ALSO: LinkedIn stalking is low key the biggest thing in online datingNow, whenever you're looking at a job posting where a connection works, an option to "Ask for a referral" will appear. Clicking this button will open a pre-written LinkedIn message to your connection.
It's a fine, generic message, but you should probably customize it to the position and person before hitting "Send." The company recommends reminding the contact of how you met, sharing why you're a good fit for the position, and highlighting why you're interested.
It seems like a small update, but it could make a big difference to newer job seekers who are anxious about asking for referrals, or who aren't sure of the best way to do it.
LinkedIn has also released a new job search filter that lets you limit job search results to those in your network. In combination, the two should help job seekers apply to more jobs more quickly, with a higher chance of success.
