Jon Stewart,chiffon erotice bondage former host of The Daily Showwill return to TV with two HBO comedy specials. President of HBO Programming Casey Bloys announced the news at TCA today. This is Stewart's first stand-up special since 1996.
“We’re excited to bring Jon to the network with this pair of specials,” Bloys said in a statement. “We’ve all missed his uniquely thoughtful brand of humor.”
SEE ALSO: Here's what healthcare would look like if we took President Trump literallyAlong with an original standup special, Stewart will host Comedy Central's Night of Too Many Stars in New York on Nov. 18, and those performances will go up on HBO. Night of Too Many Stars is a benefit for NEXT for AUTISM and was created by Robert Smigel.
“I’m really thrilled to be able to return to stand-up on HBO,” Stewart said. ”They’ve always set the standard for great stand-up specials. Plus, I can finally use up the last of the Saddam Hussein jokes left over from my first special.”
Stewart has been mostly out of the televised or public eye since leaving The Daily Showin 2015 after 16 years and handing it over to new host Trevor Noah.
The name, date, and location of Stewart's solo comedy special are yet to come.
