At Microsoft's Windows 10 event on Wednesday, the company announced a handful of new hardware partners that will be producing affordable "mixed reality" headsets that support virtual reality andaugmented reality, starting at $299.

The headsets will connect with PCs running the upcoming Windows 10 Creators Update. The headsets, like Windows 10 Creators Update, will be available in 2017.
