Donald Trump was finally unanimously praised for something: his $1 million pledge to Harvey victims.

But before Trump can pat himself on the back too hard, his gracious move was overshadowed by huge donations from celebrities, companies, and sports teams. (Also to note, it's unclear if Trump's actually signed these checks yet. Let's not forget he isn't the most trustworthy when it comes to donations.)
Houston Texan footballer J.J. Watt has raised an incredible $28.2 million (and growing) from big names like Jimmy Fallon andThe Tonight Show, Ellen Degeneres, Walmart, Drake, the Tennessee Titans, and the H-E-B grocery store CEO with a generous $5 million donation.

Outside of Watt's viral campaign, billionaires are giving Trump a literal run for his money. Houston Rockets owner Leslie Alexander upped his donation from $4 million to $10 million. Hedge fund manager John Arnold pledged $5 million.
Several companies are also giving way more than Trump's $1 million, including Verizon with $10 million, Toyota with $3 million, and Carnival with $2 million, according to CNBC.
Beyond those pledged donations, a star-studded telethon next week with Beyoncé, Oprah, Reese Witherspoon, and many others is sure to outpace Trump's gift.
If the president was hoping for a moment to shine, he's been bested.
