Who doesn't love seeing Brendan Fraser win988 Archives
After months of praise for his performance in Darren Aronofsky's The Whale, Fraser's finally sealed the deal tonight with his first Oscar win.
This career-defining feat comes after snagging Best Actor at both the Critics Choice Awards and the SAG Awards, where Fraser brought on the waterworks with two powerfully poignant speeches. At tonight's 95th Academy Awards, the happy tears continued with Fraser sharing, "I started in this business 30 years ago, and things didn't come easily to me, but there was a facility that I didn't appreciate at that time until it stopped. I just want to say thank you for this acknowledgment."
The Whalemarked Fraser's long-awaited comeback to Hollywood, after he was effectively blacklisted for speaking up about alleged sexual harassment he experienced by the former presidentof the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. His big win tonight is an emotional celebration on many levels, and marks his triumphant, and well-deserved, return.
