Donald Trump Jr. found himself in a potentially bottomless pool of shit on cheating wife sex videosTuesday after he published a series of emails (obtained beforehand by The New York Times) that show he sought to collude with a Russian government effort to help his dad win the White House, and yet the president's son is far from the most interesting character at the center of this story.
That title belongs to Rob Goldstone, someone who's known the Trump family for years.

Goldstone is not a figure known to too many people before Tuesday, but if anything has become clear about him in the past day or so, it's that he is ... eclectic.
Before Goldstone was known as the most amateur of Russia-Trump operatives, he was known as a publicist who, according to his website, had several famous clients.
Goldstone often represented musicians, including Michael Jackson, John Denver, and BB King. He says he was by Jackson's side during Jackson's 1999 tour in Australia, after which he cofounded a publicity firm that -- again according to the website -- "represented almost every major international artist touring Australia."
Goldstone's career as a music publicist led him to work with Emin Agalarov, the pop star son of a real estate rich man named Aras Agalarov, who, I shit you not, has been called the "Donald Trump of Russia."
Agalarov and Goldstone got to know Trump around 2013, when the two helped put on Trump's Miss Universe pageant in Moscow. The two real estate businessmen had plans to put a Trump Tower in Moscow, but those plans fizzled as the Trump campaign took off.
Goldstone, it seems, kept up his relationship with the Trumps.

Just around three short blocks from where the meeting that may ruin his life took place and the 45th presidency, Goldstone spent a lot of time at a restaurant called the Russian Tea Room.
He guzzled vodka there with friends and acquaintances much younger than he, according to The Daily Beast, and once paid the tab for a birthday party of eight people.
The Daily Beastdug up a 1989 Sydney Morning Heraldarticle in which Goldstone says his favorite major sin to commit is gluttony. Basically, he likes food a lot.
“If you’ve got more of something, it doesn’t bother me as long as I can have my bit," he told the Herald.
Goldstone is British, and his James Bond likeness seems to end right about there.
The man placed himself as the intermediary between the Russian government and the campaign of an eventual president, a situation you might say is Bond-level intense, and then checked into Trump Tower on the day of the now-infamous meeting between members of the Trump campaign and a Russian lawyer. He captioned his post with "preparing for meeting," something you might say is not Bond-level genius.

Then, in case we didn't get it, he put up this (now taken down) photo on his (now private) Instagram the day after the 2016 presidential election.
