Trump's announcement heralds a significant shift in American leadership's place in the world, and a step in the wrong direction when it comes to limiting the impact of global warming. J.K. Rowling has been a consistent critic of Trump's policies, most notably fighting back when Trump reinstated an anti-abortion policy as one of his very first acts as POTUS.
In January, Trump reinstated the Mexico City Policy, known as the global gag rule, preventing non-governmental organisations working abroad from receiving federal funding for family planning if they perform abortions or even talk to their clients about abortion.
