They were initially influenced by a video called "Little Superstar," which features a small boy dancing in sync to some infectious music.
Day said that he was obsessed with the original song, "Holiday Rap" by MC Miker and DJ Sven, which contains a breakbeat in the middle of the song that the boy dances to.
Seidell said that Hanks came up with the idea for David S. Pumpkins' unusual voice himself.
“I should also add, the genius of Tom Hanks to do that finger-point. We did not tell him to point two of his fingers and shake his hands in a weird way,” said Seidell.
Leave it up to Tom Hanks to turn a really good idea into a great one.
