TikTok owner ByteDance is Korea Archivesreportedly preparing to publicly launch its video-generating AI model PixelDance on its JiMeng AI platform, as it looks to get ahead of the official launch of OpenAI’s Sora, according to Chinese media outlet Jiemian. PixelDance, part of ByteDance’s expanding portfolio of large models, is designed to create realistic video content from text prompts. Early demonstrations of the model have showcased its ability to generate detailed scenes with complex human interactions, offering significant improvements in body movements and multi-angle shots compared to existing video-generating technologies. In addition to JiMeng AI, PixelDance will also be tested internally through ByteDance’s Doubao platform, which is tailored for video generation for businesses and creators. OpenAI’s Sora caused a major stir when it was first unveiled in February, however it is still yet to be made publicly available. [Jiemian, in Chinese]
