After smashing box office records and Switzerland adultbecoming a bonafide cultural phenomenon, it's hard to believe Greta Gerwig's Barbiecan get any bigger. Yet an upcoming IMAX release is about to take the biggest, pinkest movie of the summer to new heights.
SEE ALSO: Everything you need to know about 'Barbie'Warner Bros. announced on Aug. 23 that Barbie would be making its way to IMAX theaters for a one-week-long engagement beginning Sept. 22. On top of being shown on premium screens, Barbie's IMAX release will also include new, never-before-seen post-credits footage chosen by Gerwig.
The exact contents of the bonus footage are yet to be revealed, so you can expect anything from bloopers to deleted scenes. Here's hoping we can get the iconic Ryan Gosling scream in there, or specifics about just what is going on between Weird Barbie (Kate McKinnon) and Gosling's Ken in a charged behind-the-scenes photo.
In addition to its upcoming IMAX release, Barbie will be available on VOD platforms like Prime Video, Apple TV, and the Microsoft Store starting Sept. 5, and will be making its way to Warner Bros.' streaming platform Max later this fall.
